I have fallen in love with copywriting. But the truth is, I’m not a great writer. I consider myself a great communicator, however, putting my thoughts to the pen is something I struggle with. Not sounding boring, not sounding lame and even not sounding repetitive are things that I hope to hone and perfect one day.

In this blog I will be doing something dramatic. I will share my journey as I improve my copywriting skills, I will share the tools I discover, I will share my insights and in the end I will share the results of my work. I hope that this journey will help those interested in the world of marketing, or aspiring copywriters or even curious minds to just pick up the pen and start writing some copy. There is something magical when you can succinctly communicate with words, when you can use them to inspire, persuade, or create an impression.
Everybody talks about Malcom Gladwell’s “10,000 hour rule” that states “it takes 10,000 hours of intensive practice to achieve mastery of complex skills and materials, like playing the violin” But I don’t believe that, in fact, it has been debunked by a few researchers that quantity of practice does not beat quality of practice. Putting this many hours into anything would be an amazing and daunting task, after all 10,000 hours equals to 416 days and 16 hours (thank you google). The gargantuan amount of discipline and drive needed to accomplish this in itself is already astonishing. Now let’s see what happens when someone put in these hours both in quality and quantity.
As you the reader watch my skills grow and develop, I invite you to also contribute by leaving a comment, providing me tips, and leaving honest and constructive feedback.
The reason I choose the nom de plume Ink Demon is because I will be doing one thing and one thing only with an obsessive passion. Writing about copywriting, thinking about copywriting, suggesting copywriting resources, and analyzing good and bad copywriting and what makes it good or bad.
Welcome to the beginning of my journey and I am looking forward to share this all with you.
